Three lovely humans, Naveena, Yasmin and Aryan... brought charisma, silliness, and dignity to our fun little photo session a couple of weekends ago. I love making new friends and getting to know their children. It's such a pleasure to be let into the folds. Thanks Raj for letting me photograph your little beauties.
This girl... well, I just can't say enough lovely things about her. I've known her since she was a young girl and now she's almost all grown up. In her early teens, she became my little fine art muse and has posed in many of my most favorite photographs. She is also my friend. It is rare in life to meet someone who at such a young age emanates grace, strength of character, wonder, innocence and beauty all at once. She is truly a beauty both inside and out. I <3 you Willow. Wherever you go in life, you will certainly leave your mark. Good luck with your bright future. x Here are a few of my favs from our session...
There is something truly wonderful about honoring transitional moments in our children's lives. I am beginning to appreciate how special it is to capture moments during the less documented years... We as photographers are inundated with families, babies, graduating teens and wedding photography which are definitely important moments in life. But there is also something really beautiful about the glimpses we see, of what our children will become- especially during those more awkward, transitional years. Those moments when a girl begins to look more like a young woman or when a child overnight becomes a lanky boy instead of a chubby child. The undocumented years of maturity... a new project for me. This session was particularly special because not only were we capturing Rebecca at the ripe age of 13 but we were also fulfilling a magical moment for her: horses + bff + fashion + photography all in a really beautiful place (thank you Dream Ridge Stable). And I must say, I love the result. You can just feel how special she feels in these images. I think every parent should go to such lengths to give in to a bit of a childhood (or in this case, a teenage) fantasy. Rebecca, you are awesome. I can't wait to see what wonderful things you do with your life. :)
I had so much fun photographing this beautiful teen and her horse! Meet Stephanie and Maybe (the giant black beauty)! Stephanie is a high school senior at West Linn. She's not only beautiful and sweet but this clever young woman volunteers at the zoo (awesome!), works part time, studies hard and still has time for friends and family. Oh and did I forget, she likes to ride horses. ;) Thanks for a fun session Stephanie. Looking forward to round two!
It's always an honor when a close friend asks me to photograph their family, wedding or engagement. I always feel a bit of pressure in attempting to capture real smiles and attitude so hopefully I succeeded! I love this family! Each one of them is special and wonderful in their own way. We bond over all things un-American as they hail from Germany. We love you guys! x
